Who We Are
We are parents, coaches, alumni and friends working together to support all PHS student athletes. We raise money to fund projects, equipment, and programs that are either partially funded or not funded by our school district. Monies are primarily raised through the concession stands that operate during PHS sporting events, donations and fundraising projects. This has enabled the Portland Athletic Association (PAA) to provide the following: wrestling equipment (2009), baseball hitting cage (2009-2011), lane fees boys bowling (2009), lane fees girls bowling (2009), weight training and equipment for football program (2009-2011), registration fees for cheerleaders to attend clinic (2009), canopies and folding stools for girls and boys tennis (2009), pitching machine and equipment for softball (2009), baseball and softball scoreboards 2006/2007, track clock 2008, game ready machine 2008, concession wagon 2006/2007, building the concession stand at the football field, gator cart used mainly by PHS Athletic Trainer, as well as cheerleader and soccer uniforms, tennis bags, track equipment, baseball and softball pitching machines, indoor hitting range for golf, portable baseball backstop, Portland Middle School equipment volleyball net, softball bags, Nautilus equipment and flooring for the weight room, irrigation to baseball and softball fields, scoring table for sporting events, annual Hall of Fame Dinner, Project Graduation, Senior Banquet, athletic plaques given to senior athletes and the Dr. Martin Kozachik Scholarships, of which ten $100 scholarships were awarded May 2011. The PAA has proudly provided 100% funding for all requests submitted in both 2008 -2009!

Help Out Your Team
Each team is required to meet certain minimum requirements to be able to submit a funding request to the PAA for specific items they desire such as; attending meetings and working concession and PAA events (see funding policy link for full detail). This is the easy part!! Work a concession stand and attend meetings – SUPPORT YOUR TEAM.
Our meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month in the PHS Library at 7:00pm and generally last an hour. Highlights are monthly updates from Coaches, Kevin Veale the Athletic Director, and a chance for you to make a difference in the athletic programs of our kids here in Portland. The Portland Athletic Association extends a free sports pass to any family that attends 6 PAA meetings within the school year (pass given for following year) – how easy is that?
Community Support
Looking for a way to support PHS Athletics? Advertise your business and support your Raider Athletes. The PAA has outdoor advertising available on the PHS football field. This advertising is viewed by everyone attending a football game, track meet and other outdoor events. $250 per year. If interested, please contact Tami Feneis .

2011-2012 - Earning Money For Your Team and the PAA
Attend meetings: if a total of 3 people from your team attend both the Sept & Oct, or Dec & Jan or March & April meetings you will earn $50 for your team. If 6 people attend you will earn $100. (This is capped at $100/team and must be in the same 2 month offer period) This can be completed in any combination as long as you have at least 1 person at each meeting. Ex: 3 at Sept and 3 in Oct; 1 at Dec and 2 at Jan; 2 at Dec and 4 at Jan. The same person can attend both meetings and count.
Work your team’s required concession and PAA events. Your team earns 20% of the concession event that you work. You will know at the end of each concession that you have worked how much money you have earned for your team.
